Auditions for 2012.

Love Song by John Kolvenbach. Directed by Kenney Ogilvie
Season: 13 April to 5 May

Auditions: Tuesday 17 January & Thursday 19 January, commencing at 7.30 pm
Location: Chester St Theatre, Cnr Chester and Oxford Sts Epping.

Characters:
BEANE [male] aged 20-30 Ideally 25 Older than youthful and weary from working for most of his life in a dead end, repetitive job. Brother to Joan, Bean is an exile from life. Odd, and off-putting his quirks prohibit him from interacting with the world. He is softly spoken/internal as well as at times energetic/extroverted.

JOAN [female] aged 30-40 Ideally 35 Youthful, but mature. Sister to Bean, wife to Harry, Joan is a no nonsense businesswoman. Tightly wound and concerned about everyone else’s problems but her own, she is unhappy in her marriage without knowing it.

HARRY [male] 35-45 Ideally 40 Not old, not young. Prime. Husband to Joan Harry is jovial, a hobbyist. Successful but takes everything less seriously than his wife (which to his amusement frustrates her to no end) He’d wear a tie to work, but it comes off at the first available opportunity. He’s calm but deliberately so and can be aggressive at a moments notice.

MOLLY [female] 20-30 Ideally 25 Confident. Matching age to BEANE A bitter, angry criminal. Molly breaks into people’s homes to find what people like to hide. She is a ‘liberator’ (Burns down houses/destroys possessions). Molly is disgruntled when she attempts to burgle Beans apartment and finds he has nothing to hide but himself.

BILL [male] 18-30 A young(ish) waiter appears in one scene. BILL is not unhappy to be at work, but disengaged in the day until his dialogue with BEANE.

Auditions will consist of a cold read of material from the play.
